SCERTS® is a child-centered educational model for working with children with
autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This approach provides specific guidelines for
helping a child become a successful social communicator. In addition, it is
designed for families, educators and therapists to work cooperatively as team to
maximize each child’s progress. The SCERTS® Model was developed by: Dr.
Barry M. Prizant, Ph.D., CCC-SLP; Amy M. Weatherby, Ph.D., CCC-SLP; Emily
Rubin, MS, CCC-SLP and Amy C. Laurent, Ph.D., CCC-SLP.
