Melanie Bassett, M.ED, CCC-SLP
In 2011, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. For graduate school, I attended the University of Virginia and earned my Master of Education in Speech Communication Disorders in 2013. I have experience working in a variety of settings, which include public, private, and charter schools. Further experience is in a private practice, a skilled nursing facility, and an early intervention speech and language preschool. In those various settings, I have worked with children with articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, pragmatic language delays, fluency disorders, and auditory processing disorders. I am very excited to be a part of the team at KidSpeak, LLC and look forward to making a positive difference by helping children successfully communicate! Megan "Liz" Balettie, MS, CCC-SLP
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology in 2014. I have experience treating patients from infancy through childhood with a variety of diagnoses and developmental delays: receptive and expressive langauge disorders, articulation disorders, autism spectrum disorders, feeding difficulties, pragmatic disorders, fluency disorders, ADHD, and more. I am passionate about early childhood langauge development. I love helping children communicate within a fun, play-based enviornment. I joined the KidSpeak team in 2014 and have thoroughly enjoyed working with so many wonderful children, families, and other therapists!
I have been married to my husband, Andrew, since 2013, and together we have a toddler son, Cole. I love doing yoga and spending time with my family. (Liz joined the KidSpeak, LLC team the Summer of 2014.)
Alissa Silvestri, MS, CCC-SLP
I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Communication Science and Disorders in 2012. After graduation, I moved to Dallas and in 2014 I received my Master of Science in Communication Disorders from The University of Texas at Dallas. I have experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders, articulation disorders, fluency disorders, and language disorders as well as various accompanying disabilities. I have provided both individual and group therapy in a variety of settings including an outpatient clinic, public school, and home health. I have always loved working with children and watching them grow. I am so excited to work with the kids at KidSpeak, LLC and help them discover their potential (We are always excited for the Summer for Ms. Alissa to join us at KidSpeak, LLC. She has been a part of our KidSpeak, LLC Summer team for the Summer of 2015, the Summer of 2016 and the Summer of 2017).
Diana Kelly, MS, CCC-SLP
I am a 2011 graduate of the University of Kansas, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences. In 2013, I graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I moved to Texas and have been working as an SLP with elementary aged children in McKinney ISD ever since. I have worked with children with autism spectrum disorders, hearing impairments, expressive/receptive language impairments, articulation and fluency disorders as well as, pragmatic language disorders. I have always had a passion for children and their communication needs, so I am thrilled to be joining the KidSpeak team! (Diana joined the KidSpeak, LLC team the Summer of 2017).
Kristen Jones, MS, CCC-SLP
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010 with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In 2011, I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with my Masters in Communication Disorders. After graduation, I worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Richardson ISD and in private clinics with both elementary and preschool-aged children. I greatly enjoy working with children both individually as well as in groups. I have experience working with children with a variety of disorders including autism and impairments in language, pragmatics, articulation, hearing, and fluency. I am excited to join KidSpeak and help children to better communicate and understand the world around them.(Kristen joined the KidSpeak, LLC team in the Summer of 2013. She then took a break from KidSpeak, LLC in the Summer of 2015. We are so very pleased to have her rejoin the KidSpeak, LLC team starting this semester - Spring of 2018.)
